Great family outfit
All of the guides are friendly always very informative keep you updated on what the plan is for the day are able to change very quickly when weather can help or hurt the location you plan on hunting. They have the equipment that others do not when no one could get to hunting ground they could because of the investments JT and his family have made to make sure each hunter has the best possible outcome plenty of hunting area for all types of hunting. Great people I would trust them with another hunt unquestioned. I hope to return on another adventure soon!!

Excellent Hunting Experience with Steve Kovack!!
I had the hunt of a lifetime with Steve Kovack Guide Service. Steve is everything you want in a guide. He was honest (kept my booking deposit and spot for two years through COVID), very friendly, extremely hard working and genuinely concerned about his hunters’ getting opportunities at bears. In addition, and as a new hunter, he took all the time necessary to talk me through a successful hunt, including how to get into a tree stand quietly and how to conduct yourself while in the tree stand in order to maximize your chances of success and the nuances of shot placement. He was also as accessible as could be prior to hunt about answering any questions I had in preparation for the hunt.
Steve caters to rifle and bow hunting. While I suspect most of his customers are rifle hunters, if you happen to be a bow hunter, Steve is your guy! He has been involved in archery for a long time, owned an archery store in town and will ultimately make sure you are set-up for success with a bow.
In terms of my hunt, it was picture perfect. I shot a Pope and Young black bear with my bow on the fifth night of a six-day hunt. While other hunters shot bears on the first night and onwards, this timing was great for me because I felt like I had to work for it. In addition, I preferred to spend more time hunting during the week than had I been successful on the first night. Overall, I couldn’t have written a better script for or asked for a better hunt!!
Throughout the hunting week Steve worked extremely hard. He was up and out early each morning before I woke up, checking and re-baiting sites and camera SD cards. He came to pick up the hunters at lunch and was out with them until they had been dropped off back at the cottage each night at around 11pm. When I didn’t have any luck in my first stand after 3 days, he put me into another stand that had another big bear feeding at it. This was eventually the bear I shot!
All in all, Steve worked so hard I felt guilty watching all the work he was doing while I was there having the hunt of a lifetime. In addition, in spending the week with him I got to see how much he genuinely worried about his hunter’s success. I have a huge amount of respect for how hard Steve worked and how stressful the job is. Steve took care of all the animal processing and has a great butcher and taxidermist he works with.
On top of the hunt, the accommodations are great and the Edmunston location provides access to the Canadian wilderness and its breathtaking views. Edmunston and New Brunswick more broadly may be worth checking out after your hunt is over.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I can’t recommend Steve and his guides highly enough. I am a better hunter after this trip and I learned a lot. I would happily go back, and with the upmost confidence recommend anyone go see Steve for the bear hunt of a lifetime!! Thank you, Steve! See you next time!!

Big Buck down!
Terry and Stephanie were absolutely amazing. They truly care about your hunt and your experience. The hunting was rough do to the weather but terry tried his absolute hardest to put us on big deer. You can truly his passion is putting people on big deer. Stephanie made bomb food every night for dinner so everyday ended on a good note.
In the end my hunt was very successful. I shot a 160” 11 point in perfect velvet!! Still managed to get it done even though we had thunderstorms all week.

Awesome 1st Time Experience
I've only started hunting in the last year, but when the wife and I started looking at taking a trip to South Africa I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Hannes was extremely helpful and very easy to contact whenever we had any questions. We were a bit limited on time, so I booked a three night hunt. We were looking to get a wildebeest, impala, blesbok, and sprinkbok--and managed to bag all but the blesbok.
The hunting was superb. I had expected to hunt primarily from a vehicle, but we did everything on foot and covered about 11 miles a day between morning and evening treks. Hannes will readily admit the game isn't "free-range" since his property is high-fenced like most others in South Africa, but when you've have the ability to cover thousands of hectares on foot...it's about as fair-chase as you can get.
After reviewing our plans, Hannes suggested we make time to go to Pilannesberg National Park for a few days of safari. He provided transportation for us, booked us a stay at Sun City, and arranged for several game drives for us. If you have the time...make room to add this on.
Can't wait to go back.

Great Stalk, great local knowledge.
Excellent knowledge of hunting ground, very professional approach, great stalk and great guild. Met my expectations fully. I had asked for a good Cull Roe Buck but not a medal on this stalk and this is exactly what I was presented with.

Camp was spartan. Wildlife was plentiful! 2 for 2 with a bow!
This was a real roughing it tundra camping and hunting experience. We saw plenty of animals and had lots of stalking opportunities each day - even for bow hunting.
I connected at 72 yards on a caribou and 28 yards on a musk ox. I even had stalks as close as 18 yards on caribou after I had already gotten mine down.
I had a great group of people in camp. The hiking was hard in August. I read that it was difficult and so I trained for it and it worked out. I recommend hitting the gym before you go. Treadmill on an incline and stair master would serve as great prep.
The camp guides busted their asses and had a good attitude. I had Martin and Mads as our guides and was very happy with them. The others seemed just as competent.
